THE NEW YEAR STARTER

Happy New Year!!! Sorry it’s coming late. It’s the beginning of a great year ahead. Barely a month in and it’s been beautiful. I thought to share a few things I have picked up over the years. They may come in handy when you least expect. It’s the start line of 2016 and the Green light means go, don’t make your aim to overtake others, it’s not about how far you have gone, it’s about how well you are doing with each passing day. Alright here it goes...........

Plan to move forward in this new season of opportunities. Write down personal goals and what you intend to accomplish. When you prepare, you are not caught unawares, you are actually a step closer to making your goals a reality. Let 2016 not just be a change of date but a clean slate to create your own, achieve your best and pass all your tests. Try no matter how hard it seems. Remember it’s all about focus and mind set. Your watch word should be; Visualize, Strategize and Actualize.

Stop eating CRAP and get active (Exercise). Not very inspirational right? CRAP stands for Carbonated Drinks, Refined Sugars, Artificial sweeteners and colours and processed foods. Try some healthy alternatives like; FOOD which stands for Fruits and Vegetables, Organic Lean Proteins, Omega 3 Acids and Drink Water. Do this not just to keep off the extra pounds, but because we get older with every New Year and our bodies deserve better. It’s hard but worth the effort. Throw in some physical activity and exercises regularly to keep the heart pumping, the blood flowing and the organs at top form.

Be thankful, what can we give that has not been given to us, what do we have that is not from God. Gratitude is a wonderful attitude to have; it creates room in your heart to receive more blessings. Learn to say thank you more. You can add in “please” and “Excuse me”. Also learn to appreciate people more appreciate their time, effort, kind gestures and  the impact they have on you.

Understand the importance of relationships. Nurture and preserve the meaningful ones you have. Reconnect with friends, extended family and colleagues. We can get real busy with the way the world is, it is nice to reach out to those you haven’t spoken to in a while. “At the end of the day let there be no excuses, no explanations no regrets” –Dr. Steve Maraboli

Don’t let your job take your best and give you its worst. Strength of character should be built no matter what the challenge or pressure. It can get hard at work sometimes, like a battle field type situation. Hold your head above water and don’t drown with the tides; stretch with challenges don’t shrink because of them. Smile and Laugh always.
